SHOOTING INVESTIGATION – CABIN HALLOW ROAD
FINCASTLE, VA – The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a shooting investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., deputies responded to the 500 block of Cabin Hallow Road, after Botetourt County Emergency Communications Center-911 receiving a call that a firearm had been discharged at a known acquaintance.
While enroute to the scene, a second call to 911 was received from the victim at the Dollar General in Fincastle. The victim stated he had been shot by his roommate.
Upon arrival at the Dollar General, deputies found the victim to be suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival at Cabin Hallow Road, deputies encountered the suspect who was taken into custody.
The suspect has been identified as:
Bruce Reese, (57) of Eagle Rock, Virginia.
Botetourt County Department of Fire and EMS personnel transported the victim to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the two roommates engaged in an argument over rent during the time of the shooting.
