INMATE VISITATION AND COMMUNICATIONS

All inmate visitations are conducted via eMessaging, video, or phone through Paytel. In order to use one of these inmate visitation services, you will need to set up an account and enroll in Paytel.

On-site visitations are FREE (scheduled 24 hrs in advance of the visitation), in the main lobby of the Botetourt-Craig Public Safety Building, or PAID conducted remotely from your phone, tablet, or computer. You may schedule visitations on-site, in the main lobby of the Botetourt-Craig Public Safety Building, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or online.

INMATE VISITATION RULES

1. Visitors and inmates will conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times during a video visits. Disruptive, abusive, or offensive language or behavior is not permitted.

2. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance through Paytel’s online system. A Paytel mobile app is also available for convenience.

3. Visitors must register and be approved before visits can be scheduled. All visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult visitor.

4. Visitors are allowed 2 free on-site visits per week, per inmate.

5. All visits are recorded and subject to monitoring by the Botetourt County Sheriff’s . Your use of this video visitation system constitutes consent to this recording and monitoring.

6. Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to deny, cancel or terminate a visit prior to, or during a video session based on visitor or inmate misconduct. Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office also reserves the right to restrict visitors from participating in all future use of the system.

7. Sexual activities are prohibited, including any action that a reasonable person would consider sexual or provocative, revealing clothing, or any lewd act that should not be performed in public.

8. The use of cell phones or other electronic devices, to screenshot, record or any other activities are not permitted.
